Why buy art, every now and then people will ask me this question. Why buy real art when you can go to IKEA and get mass produced orchids printed on canvas. Yes, perhaps an artist along the way did actually "paint" what's now a commodity hanging up in living rooms across the planet. So I suppose the real question is, why buy original art.
